Montcalm East Hotel occupies a prime position between Shoreditch and the City and is a short stroll from Old Street. Montcalm East is a diamond-shaped building that pays tribute to the op art of Tate Modern luminary, Bridget Riley. As light hits it, the shimmering shark-grey façade tricks the eyes

During Covid lockdown EA was asked to replace a circleslide door installed by others and introduce an all-glass revolving door and pass door that EA Group manufactured in Surrey UK to the bespoke dimensions requested, we visited the site in May 2021 and received glowing feedback from the staff on site now that they have reopened to the public.

Montcalm East draws inspiration from the art studios that blossomed in Shoreditch in the 1980s and 90s. Led by Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, and photographers such as Turner Prize-winning Gillian Wearing, a new breed of creatives revitalised this dynamic patch of London

EA Group was recently approached for a minimalist revolving door with a concealed power assist and parking function. A short lead-time was requested.

Luckily for the client we manufacture in the UK and have a few drives on the shelf, the rest on the door will be bespoke made in Surrey during the next few weeks.

Montrose House Refurbished Heritage Gates approved by Historic England

Montrose House is a late 17th-century Grade II* listed building in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The owners approached EA Group with a vision of refurbishing the original central gates. This was due to their worn condition and the potential structural dangers that they posed.

With Heritage England involved, the refurbishment project was undertaken EA to replicate the original gates exactly. The original gates were taken down in two stages. Firstly the arch was removed to ensure a safe working area below. Following that, the main gates and framework was delicately removed. Once removed, the historic gates were transported to the fabrication facility.

These beautiful historic gates were to be refurbished and rebuilt using the original ironwork. This required them to be carefully stripped and repaired. When a new component part was required due to the existing poor condition, a new was manufactured to match exactly using reclaimed or aged material.

After several months of delicate work the new refurbished gates were returned and erected on-site.

Bringing a fresh new lease of life to the main entrance of this outstanding house in Richmond, Surrey. These new refurbished gates will now stand as the centerpiece to this magnificent property for many years to come.

Our British Made All-Glass Revolving Door

EA Group are delighted to announce the launch of their British made, new All Glass Revolving Door.

EA Group have taken the initiative and developed an all new Glass Revolving Door which is manufactured in Great Britain, enabling the company to have the quickest possible lead-times, most competitive pricing, and reduces the carbon footprint of delivery from our British production facility to sites within the UK and Ireland.

Our new all-glass revolving door can either be constructed almost entirely from glass with only stainless steel patch fixings to secure the glass panels together. Or with a thin edging frame, offered in choices of polished or brushed stainless steel, brass or bronze finishes or PPC to match any RAL colour.

From research with architects and designers, we have made our new all-glass revolving door available in sizes of one millimeter increments, in both width and height, at no additional bespoke penalty cost. This new all-glass revolving door will now be designed and manufactured in Britain, specifically to fit the aperture requirements of a building.

By manufacturing our own door within Great Britain, we are further able to meet the design aspirations of our clients, specific to the finest detailing and delivering exceptional results, all within tighter timelines.

Within the first few months of its manufacture, EA Group have been able to deliver and install several client orders of the new All-Glass Revolving Door, including: The prestigious One Springfield Drive office development in Surrey (pictured above).

With more installations of our new all-glass revolving door within the immediate pipeline, and new variations of this door due to be released during Q3 and Q4 of 2017, EA Group are very positive for the future of our British made door.

More images and updated information will be published on our All-Glass Revolving Door web page.
