Swing lane

As the name suggests, a swing lane is a design that operates on the swing open/close principle. You can get these contemporary entrance control solutions in both waist-high designs and full-height designs. This entrance solution has a high traffic flow capacity and is one of the most cost-effective entrance solutions and it is easily adaptable to meet your needs.

Slide lane

This entrance access solution features glass sliding panels that retract into the body upon an authorised signal. You can choose to control this elegant efficient solution with the majority of access control systems or with a manual control such as a push button. A slide lane has an incredibly fast opening time of just 0.8 seconds, making it perfect for high footfall areas.

Speed lane

Similarly to a slide lane, a speed lane is designed whereby glass or plastic panels retract into the body of this entrance control solution, however, it is more ergonomically designed and very aesthetically pleasing. They seamlessly blend into any modern interior yet still provide a reliable security control against unauthorised pedestrian access.

Swing gate

When you’re in need of wider accessibility, a swing gate is the perfect entrance access solution. It has been designed to not only be a simple and affordable barrier, but it is also suitable for both disabled access and delivery routes up to 900mm. You can get both automatic and manual modes for swing gates, so you can choose how you’d like to allow entry.

Tripod turnstiles

Turnstiles, in general, are a reliable entrance control solution and they are known for their tripod arms. With classic, elite and plus options to choose from, it is easy to find a tripod turnstile that meets your visual requirements. All tripod turnstile designs incorporate simplicity with impressive functionality and they always provide high traffic flow.

Glass pass

This entrance access solution is suitable for premises where higher security is required and tailgating needs to be prevented. A glass pass is a full-height turnstile, yet it is minimalistic in design and visually appealing. It is designed for unattended access control applications and can be operated automatically by access control systems including; card readers, biometrics, intercoms, remote control or alternatively, it can be operated manually.

Access control is a general term that is used in the security industry that refers to an electronic method of controlling who is able to pass through a secured point. Nowadays, access control systems are incredibly popular amongst business owners and there are so many benefits to having a comprehensive system installed at your premises. There is no denying that they are an incredibly versatile security solution too and they are easily able to meet the needs of a wide range of industry sectors.

Whether you’re looking into access control systems for your office building or your gym franchise, you will have lots to think about when designing a system that is able to meet your individual needs. One thing that is undeniably important to consider is how authorised people will gain access to restricted areas. Nowadays, you have multiple options in this regard and as you may expect, there are pros and cons to all of them. So, to help anyone looking into access control systems, below are some of the most popular options available.

ID card access control

This access control solution is one of the most commonly chosen, especially in office building environments. All employees will have an ID card that enables them to enter the areas that they are authorised to access and each employee’s card will be different. For any businesses that already have ID cards, this is a brilliant option and can simply replace their current cards. Of course, the only downside is that personalised ID cards can’t be reused.

Key fob access control

Many business owners will opt for key fobs for their access control systems as they are seen to be one of the most convenient options. Employees will have a small fob, which can often be put on their keys or lanyard, which enables them to gain access to any authorised spaces. Simply present the key fob close to a reader device to release the locking mechanism. The only downside to these fobs is that some employees may lose them, which poses problems.

Pin entry access control

It goes without saying that pin codes have been used for many years in such a vast range of applications and they are a brilliant option to consider. With a pin entry access control system, employees will simply need to enter the correct code in order to gain access to a particular space. Whilst many like this option because it doesn’t require cards or fobs, if you have lots of different secure areas you will need multiple codes and this isn’t always easy to remember.

Intercom access control

Whilst this option isn’t necessarily as versatile, it can be brilliant for those who are only wanting an access control solution for the main entrance. It is likely that you’re already familiar with the way that intercom systems work and of course, they won’t require your employees to have cards/fobs or remember any codes. The only downside is that they don’t always work if you want access control in different areas inside your building.

Number plate access control ANPR

Again, depending on the type of access control you’re looking for, this may not be a suitable option, but it is worth knowing about. Number plate access control is brilliant for private car parks and any businesses who want to prevent unauthorised use of this space. This is another option that doesn’t require your employees to do anything, which is beneficial. However, it is only suitable for outdoor access control.

Installing an access control system at your premises

Hopefully, now that you’re aware of the different options available to you when designing your access control system, you will find it easier to choose which will be most suitable for your individual application. Of course, this is quite a big decision to make and one that will affect everyone who works on your premises, so take your time to carefully consider all available options and if you’re looking for a professional opinion, don’t hesitate to ask for one.

Whether you’re looking for an effective crowd control method or you need a convenient access control solution, you can trust that there will be a perfect system for you. If you have any questions at all or if you’d like to discuss your access control needs in more detail, don’t hesitate to contact us today.

This crossroad through a sand quarry is another great example of our automatic barriers. Our client had an older barrier system in use for over 15 years with limited safety, so EA Group carried out a complete replacement of the system which includes the use of safety lasers to ensure a safer compliant entrance for them. #automaticbarrier #trafficbarrier #security

Another great example of our barrier system, this time in a residential setting, these apartments were getting a lot of anti-social activity in their garage/parking area, so a new barrier with a bottom skirt was decided on to prevent entry to the garages.

When purchasing or redesigning business premises, it goes without saying that you will have many different things to consider. Not only is the interior design and layout of the property important but the exterior and also your entrance doors shouldn’t be overlooked either. When you own a public building that customers and clients will be visiting regularly, you will find that the exterior is just as important as the interior.

As far as your entrance doors are concerned, you will have many different options to choose from for your premises. From commercial automatic sliding glass doors to classic business double entrance doors, you can guarantee that there is a brilliant option available for any premises. These days, automatic doors are becoming more and more popular and it isn’t uncommon to see these used in numerous different commercial buildings. There are a wide range of benefits to choosing automatic doors and if you’re wondering what these may be, keep reading today.

Make your premises easily accessible

As a business owner, accessibility should be important to you. After all, you want to ensure that everyone will be able to enter your premises regardless of their physical capabilities. Thankfully, automatic sliding doors, revolving doors or swing doors can help you with this. Using automatic doors will allow you to ensure that people are able to enter without struggle or embarrassment and this will reflect positively on your business.

Much more convenient

All automatic doors are incredibly convenient to use and being able to enter your business premises even if you don’t have a free hand to push or pull a door is very helpful. Depending on the business that you run, you may find it isn’t uncommon for visitors to be pushing a pram, carrying shopping bags, or even to be on the phone, so your automatic doors will allow them to enter the premises without any hassle.

They look professional and aesthetically pleasing

It is essential that your business premises look professional and you can guarantee that simply installing commercial automatic sliding glass doors or all-glass automatic revolving doors, will help you to ensure you’re giving off the best first impression to your visitors. These doors are always aesthetically pleasing and with a wide variety of designs and styles to choose from, you can easily choose something that is perfect for your premises.

Help you to maintain a comfortable temperature

More often than not, businesses tend to prop their doors open to prevent any issues in regards to entering the premises, but this can make it impossible to maintain the temperature inside the building. Thankfully, because automatic doors only open when necessary and also close after the visitor has entered, they will actually be closed most of the time, which will help with temperature control. This will, in turn, make your premises much more energy-efficient too.

Hygiene control

For some businesses, hygiene is an essential factor to think about when installing external entrance doors and automatic doors are perfect for businesses where hygiene control is very important. As visitors don’t need to touch the doors when entering, this can help prevent the spread of germs and also the regular closing of the doors will prevent dirt and dust from polluting the inside of the premises.

Installing automatic doors

All in all, there is no denying that installing automatic doors is a brilliant idea no matter what your business may entail. You can guarantee that you will easily be able to find the perfect solution within the range of commercial automatic doors on the market these days and ultimately, this type of door will work brilliantly at all business properties. It is fair to say that installing automatic doors is a brilliant business decision all round.
